A message from our teacher
Thank you for logging into our Year Five class page.
Here you will find all the information you need about your child’s school life and our day-to-day routine.
May I take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful parents and carers for their continued support for their children’s education.
Again, a huge WELCOME, and I sincerely look forward to a wonderful time teaching all of your amazing children and watching them grow.
Miss Suleman
Year 5 Classroom Information
School start and finish Times
The doors open at school at 8.40am lessons begin at 8.45am. School finishes at 3:15pm.
Reading Books
Reading Books are sent home every day. Please make sure they are returned each day. If they are sent home on Friday, they are returned on Monday.
We ask that you read with your child at home frequently and make brief comments in their reading record to indicate that the book has been read.
Class Dojo
We use a communication tool with parents called Class Dojo. It is an app that you can download and keep up to date with school news and your child’s learning. We post pictures often of what has been happening in class. We will also post homework on here and ideas about how to support your child’s learning at home. This programme also allows your child to earn dojo points by demonstrating positive behaviour in school.
Lunch
Lunch is from 12.15 – 1.15. Please make sure your child brings their water bottle each day and ensure they have a healthy, balanced lunch if they bring one from home.
PE
The children will do PE on Thursdays. Please send your child in their PE kit for the day.
All children will need black pumps (these can be kept in school in a pump bag).
PLEASE ENSURE ALL CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR ARE LABELLED.
For the autumn term, Year 5 will be swimming on Fridays and will need to bring kit into school.
Homework & Spellings
Homework is sent home on Fridays and is due back on the following Monday. Please ensure your child completes their homework, as it is set to help embed the concepts we have learnt throughout the week.
Spellings are also sent home on Fridays and are to be kept at home for children to practice. Children are tested on the spellings on the following Friday.
