St Patrick's Graduated Response to identifying Special Educational Needs

At St Patrick’s, we believe every child holds unique potential. Rooted in Christian values, we foster a culture of lifelong learning that celebrates diversity, achievement, and community.

Through inspirational teaching, we nurture confident learners who take pride in their progress. Our high expectations, family partnerships, and supportive parish environment ensure all children—especially those with SEND—thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

We are committed to enabling all learners to fulfil their potential, live full lives, and transition confidently into the future.

“I come that they might have life and live it to the full.” – John 10:10

Our vision aligns with the statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice (January 2015) and is guided by:

  • The Equality Act 2010: advice for schools

  • DfE guidance (February 2013)

  • SEND Code of Practice 0–25 (revised January 2015)

At St Patrick’s we follow a structured approach to the early identification of Special Educational Needs to allow us to put in additional support for our pupils.  Below is our Graduated Response Approach.
